Privacy and support
Your hub reads music from folders you choose and serves it to authorized clients. A normal scan does not upload your music library to a streaming catalog.
When data leaves the hub
| Action | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Phone streaming | Audio and library responses go to your paired client |
| Public share | Selected shared content is available to people opening that link, subject to the share settings |
| Enrichment / catalog search | Query or track metadata is sent to the selected provider |
| License activation/validation | License and installation/device proof is sent to Tape's licensing service |
| Diagnostics upload | Logs, system information and hub state are sent when that reporting action/setting is used |
| Phone diagnostics export | A redacted file is prepared for the destination you choose in email/share controls |
These are separate actions. "Music stays on your disks" does not mean the app never makes a network request. See the product Privacy policy (opens in a new tab) for the published policy.
Report a problem
Include the desktop and phone versions, OS, the steps before the failure, what you expected and what happened. For connectivity, add whether the phone was on the same LAN, another Wi-Fi or mobile data. For playback, include the time, file format, quality mode and output device.
On Desktop use the available diagnostics/export control in Settings → Advanced. On the phone use Settings → Advanced → Send Diagnostics to Developer or Export Diagnostics. Read the destination and reporting choice before sending. Troubleshooting explains these controls.
Send reports to contact@tapemusicsuite.com. Do not attach a music library, database, license key, live pairing code or private recovery URL to a public issue. Review screenshots for those values before sharing them.
Keep evidence of a failure
A screenshot should show the complete message and the control that led to it. For timing problems, a short recording plus the matching diagnostics timestamp is more useful than one image. Preserve library data until recovery is understood; see Back up and restore.
